DESCRIPTION:Paul Milgrom (Stanford University): “Beyond the Vickrey Auction” \nPaul Milgrom is the Shirley and Leonard Ely professor of Humanities and Sciences in the Department of Economics at Stanford University. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences\, and winner of the 2008 Nemmers Prize in Economics\, the 2012 BBVA Frontiers of Knowledge award\, the 2017 CME-MSRI prize in Innovative Quantitative Applications\, and the 2018 Carty Award for the Advancement of Sciences from the National Academy of Sciences. \nMilgrom is best known for his contributions to the microeconomic theory and his pioneering innovations in the practical design of multi-item auctions. \nThe lecture is open to faculty members and students of the University of Bonn and the University of Cologne. Registration is not required.
